Robert Loiselle

Robert Loiselle went on its first canoe trip when he was 3 months old. At 13 years old, he had his own business of bonhommes gigueurs that he sold at Festival du Voyageur. In 1990, he founded with his uncle Georges Beaudry, the Associates of Fort Gibraltar and was its first Bourgeois. For over 10 years, he was an interpreter at Fort Gibraltar as a voyageur, hivernant, blacksmith, carpenter, cooper, tinsmith and soldier. He inspired a whole new generation of interpreters. Today, Robert continues to paddle tirelessly to showcase his heritage with his joie de vivre, his sense of humour and his love for maple syrup and his culture.
